Troina is situated in the Nebrodi Mountains to the west of Etna volcano.
The historic center runs along the ridge guarding 3 valleys and ...
...is dominated by the 3 churches built within the remains of the Norman fortifications and watchtower.
The churches of Sta.Maria Assunta & S.Giorgio flank the Norman tower.
* A broad terrace with panoramic views of Etna and the countryside...
...replaced the convent of the Benedictine nuns of San Giorgio, which stood here until 1921.*
Overlooking the terrace, the Municipality stands at the head of the street...
